Preparing for your Lip tattoo session.
TIPS FOR PREPARING FOR YOU LIP TATTOO SESSION
Follow these instructions to maximize your results & avoid rescheduling when you show up.
If you are prone to cold sores, you will be required to take oral antiviral medication provided by your doctor for 2 days prior to treatment and 3 days following to prevent any outbreaks.
Ensure you drink plenty of water and your lips are well hydrated/moisturized 1 week prior.
Exfoliate your lips for the week prior to your appointment at home using a drop of coconut oil and sugar to create your own scrub.
Ensure you are using a lip conditioner/balm every day leading up to your appointment to ensure your skin is in optimal shape for the procedure.
Procedure will NOT be performed if you are pregnant or nursing
No alcohol, coffee/tea or caffeine (even decaf), or energy drinks 24 - 48 hrs. before procedure. Caffeine is a natural blood thinner causing you to bleed excessively during the procedure. It also makes your nerve endings more sensitive and prevents you from numbing.
No blood thinners (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, other NSAID medication, fish oil, Niacin, Vitamin E) 48 hours before your procedure, to avoid excess bleeding, which directly affects color retention.
If you are on prescribed blood thinners I will not be able to do this procedure.
Lip fillers (4 weeks before your first session or 4 weeks after your touch up session)
No botox or fillers 4 weeks prior or after procedure
No chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or resurfacing facial treatments 60 days before or after procedure.
No Retin A, retinols for 7 days prior.
No Accutane for 1 year. NO exceptions.
Avoid sun/ tanning bed exposure for 1 week before your procedure.
Please do not show up with a sunburn.
As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the tattoo pigment with it. If you show up for your appointment with a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit.
Vaccines/Immunizations - please ensure your cosmetic tattoo appointment is scheduled a minimum of 14 days either BEFORE or AFTER to avoid any potential immune reactions.
Being on your menstrual cycle can cause hypersensitivity and the procedure can be more painful.
No working out or any activity that will cause sweating the day of and for 7 days after the procedure.
The procedure will NOT be performed if you have any lesions, irritation, or pimples. Moles are to be removed prior, and need to heal 1 month before microblading.
There is no guarantee how your skin will heal and take to the pigments. Every client has unique skin and some may take to the pigment better than others.
Other Contraindications: Any medical conditions that can affect your healing process and/or make your blood thinner will have to have a doctor's note before you can book and receive a lip tattoo service.
Conditions such as diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disease, or hemophilia, also if you are undergoing chemotherapy, allergic to lidocaine, or on blood thinners or any other medications will require a doctor's note
It is recommended to plan any vacations a minimum of 14 days after the procedure.
